Wind Toys are Fun
Colorful windsocks or wind spinners (windspinners?) [they were called pinwheels when I was a kid] and kites flying in the wind all remind me of freedom, childhood, relaxed joy just in living. At Christmas, I put out the Christmas tree wind spinner as one of my holiday decorations … Halloween finds me with a spooky flag flying in the wind … 4th of July is fly the flag day …. the list goes on and on for me as well as many others who like wind and wind toys.
When I lived in a house I had some plastic dragonflies on poles that their wings are spring-attached so they fly in the breeze - I liked that really well … I had 4 wind chimes hanging from the eaves in the front of the house outside (butterflies, 2 different dragons - 1 bright green and the other brass and 1 dragonfly where the chimes have long since left due to weather rotting the strings away) … I needed a new every-day windsock - the old one got rather raggedy and needed replaced … but I moved from the house to an apartment and got a balloon spinner instead. When I moved, I left the wind chimes outside hanging where they were - my daughter owns the house and her husband is using it as office space for his business. I have two different lighted dragonfly wind chimes hanging in the apartment. My daughter laughs at me for having so many wind chimes but I love the sounds … I love to see them moving … I love to think of the work that went into creating them - they are works of art too and to enjoy the fruits of someone’s artistic endeavors is a good thing to this artist!
